They are very fast-growing evergreen trees of narrowly conical or columnar habit, with tiny scale-like leaves in dense sprays, and small spherical cones and are vigorous columnar evergreen conifer to 25m or more, with flat sprays of golden-yellow foliage, sometimes tinged bronze.

Best Uses
Gold Leylandii (Castlewellan Gold) is great for formal hedging with regular pruning but you can leave them untrimmed for a more natural shaggy feature. Its tough nature makes it perfect for coastal areas as its dense foliage is perfect for shielding against wind and noise in general.
Care Advice
Golden Leylandii is best pruned twice a year between April and August. To maintain a neat and tidy shape, you can trim this plant 3 times within the growing period.
Plant Combinations
Gold Leylandii is fast-growing and because of this, it is often grown alone to erect a hedge in quick succession. It can however be grown alongside Green Leylandii for a combination of the two.
