Description
Green Beech Hedging Plants 2-3ft | Fagus Sylvatica Bareroot
Fagus sylvatica, commonly known as Green Beech, is one of the most popular native hedging species in the UK. These 2-3ft (60-90cm) bareroot plants are ideal for establishing a new hedge quickly, offering excellent coverage and a natural, traditional look to any garden boundary.
Why Choose Green Beech Hedging?
Green Beech is prized for its vibrant fresh green foliage in spring and summer, which transitions to stunning copper and bronze tones through autumn and winter. Unlike many deciduous species, beech retains its dried leaves throughout the colder months, providing year-round screening and privacy for your garden.

Planting Guide for Bareroot Beech Hedging
Bareroot plants are supplied without soil on the roots and should be planted as soon as possible after delivery. Keep roots moist at all times and avoid exposing them to direct sunlight. For best results, soak roots in water before planting and incorporate compost or peat moss into the planting hole. Water thoroughly after planting and every few days until established.
For a dense hedge, plant 3-5 plants per metre in a single row, or stagger in a double row for thicker coverage. Green Beech hedging can be maintained at any height from 1 metre upward and responds well to regular trimming in late summer.
